Isle Of Paradise

There’s a new kid on the self tan block in the name of Isle of Paradise. If you know me, you know I love a tan so I wanted to find out all about it and take a moment to share it with you.

Firstly, it comes in 3 different ways – self tan drops to be mixed with your moisturiser, tanning water and tanning mousse.  Whether it’s instant tan or gradual wear, they’ve got you covered. It comes in 3 different colours:

Peach – Light. Green – Medium. Violet – Dark.

I have been on a quest for a tan to suit my face as well as my body – anybody else have a brown body and a big white face?  I previously haven’t got on well with tans on my face but I’ll go into that in a minute.  Off down to Boots I went, I chose two things – the self tanning drops and tanning water.  I like a dark tan in summer so chose both in the dark formulation.  This is a buildable tan so whatever colour you chose you can build it up gradually to a colour that suits you.  It also claims to have colour correcting properties which can improve imperfections. Ok, I’m listening… with acne scars and body scars from previous surgeries, I am imperfection personified so that drew me in for a start. I am prone to break outs so the thing that most concerned me was, will this break me out? The drops, say to ‘mix with your moisturiser’ and are suitable for ‘face and body’ so I thought mixing it with my moisturiser might reduce the chances of me breaking out.  I have used this twice on my face now, and so far have had no new breakouts as a result of using this tan.  This is a first for me and a huge step forward in my tanning game, I will continue to use this and keep you updated!

The Good Stuff

Firstly, the Isle of Paradise is 100% clean, vegan, cruelty free and organic.  It has been created by an expert, and you can tell.  His name is Jules Von Hep, a tanning expert to the stars, he’s been bronzing models for the catwalk and Hollywood’s finest A-list celebrities for the red carpet for over 10 years.  He is a champion for body positivity in all shapes and sizes, I particularly love this.  Check out his Instagram for your daily dose of his self confessed ‘Human Sunshine’.   Oh and did I mention it’s 100% clean, vegan, cruelty free and organic!

Pros

Everything.  Colour pay off is excellent, goes on well, wears well, no nasty self tan smell – I hate that stale biscuit smell which can be really off putting (in other words pure boke) it’s still early days but because I use the drops on my face with my own moisturiser, so far, this hasn’t broken me out and I’m so happy to continue using it.

Cons

None that I can think of.

In a nutshell, this tan exceeded my expectations, its everything I look for in a tan and more, it would take some seriously big claims to pull me away from the Isle of Paradise.  They have gained a new customer in me, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

This retails for around £19.99 but is currently a 1/3 OFF on http://www.isleofparadise.co.uk and http://www.boots.com for a short time only, so get it while you can.  And let me know how you get on!
